Blue Jeans & Bloody Tears inside The Metaverse
Nim from Sweaty Machines:
As Eurovision approaches, and the web transitions to web3, we could not miss the opportunity to be a part of the metaverse. Mappers Tom "Oneill" Chase & Stuart "Fasty" Murray created this incredible thing, and we just had to share it with you.
Tom & Stuart:
"There's something truly magical about this song. Musically, it combines all the drama and key changes you could ask for from a well-produced Eurovision Song Contest entry combined with the at times both absurd and profound almost-but-not-quite-human lyrics of love and loss. It's as if through hearing our songs of love lost, the deep learning somehow managed to reflect our human quality of empathy; the way the witness to sadness is so often moved to tears themselves, because "tears will always have wet eyes".
I can remember the first time I was introduced to this song, and wanted to create a deeper connection between player and music - and for that, we turned back to the humans and to another virtual reality rhythm game, "Synth Riders". Both of us, Fasty and ONeill, undertook to bring "Blue Jeans and Bloody Tears" into the game to create that human connection: so that human players can play a map created by humans, as a reaction to the song and lyrics created by an AI, based on music and lyrics created by Eurovision entries and performed and produced by humans.
We hope you enjoy the performance!"

Case Study: Blue Jeans & Bloody Tears (a Eurovision AI SONG)
Переглядів 108 тис.4 роки тому
In May 2019, Tel Aviv hosted the 64th Eurovision song contest for the 4th time. As all of Europe (together with Israel and Australia) waited for this year’s oh-so-glamorous and famously kitschy song contest, a group of artists, musicians and programmers have asked themselves is there a special DNA for a Eurovision song? What makes it a hit or a flop? What makes it memorable? And What makes it a...

The only time i've ever liked AI to date

3 years to Sumo
Just came here after discovering sumo. Let's see if this comes out of it, when I pase the lyrics
This song is great and i'm sorry an AI wrote it.
As the result made the most boring song 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Average Taylor Swift fan:
It seems like this is about the inevitability of sadness. "There's no life without your life in misery," and, "Tears will always have wet eyes." Seems to be saying that it's impossible for life to exist without misery. And also that there will always be someone's wet eyes, for tears to flow out of, because someone is always sad. But I guess you could look at it in a more positive way too. "There's no life without your life in misery" could also mean that life only has meaning because out of misery comes meaning. That's what gives the happy moments meaning. Basically "there would be no happiness without sadness."
Im going to be signing this song
Safe to say the music industry is more than. Safe from A. I 😂. THIS IS AWFUL
Still better than the 2024 Australian entry.
And basically every German entry
Someone's confident in learning a few new words of English that he decides to sing because they sound cool.
"as the web transitions to web3" haaaaa hahahahahaaah
Would love to see a update version of this now at AI gotten so much better
Just send this and be done with the whole competition once and for all.
Love coming back to this, back when Ai was still pure and not seen as expoitation
I wish someone did an AI cover of this song
Did they use chat gpt for the lyrics?
chatgpt wasn't even a thing 4 years ago wdym
Chat gpt didn’t even exist in 2020
I hate how every radio rock song is just a copy of reo speedwagon+bon jovi+ pearl jam+ green day+ linkin park in a blender My alternative choice for who to plagiarize for every radio rock song is rush + siouxsie and the banshees + creedence clearwater revival + def leppard+ u2 + pat benatar + pantera in a blender

Is the animation ai generated?
Yes sir
@@The1enemyy even the voices?
No nothing is, it was made 4 years ago, way before the AI shitstorm was a thing...
@@ellenort9355nah ai existed 4 years ago,it was just really trash at generation pictures
"Baby, bye bye bye," is the line that brought me back to listen again.... catchy!
I feel like it just decided it was going to do Sweden 2022 but with a more light hearted tone
What ai did you use?
Look at the date... AI was not a thing back then.
@@ellenort9355 oke
@@ellenort9355AI isn't even a thing nowadays... Now Machine Learning? That's been available for decades...
So, no one single """AI""" tool because it was before the ChatGPT and Suno and other shit storms But they basically separated tons and tons of Eurovision songs into a few components, like tunes, vocals, backvolcals, rhythms, notes, instruments, etc. Then they used a machine learning algorithm to categorize all of these, then another one to mix and match. The end result is a combo of all those different components being assessed and reassembled by a computer, then the actual final product had Lyrics and MIDI data, they then got someone to sing the lyrics and a producer to fix and finalize the song.
Feels like this was longer than 4 years ago
The ai arts lack oc consistency actually help
Why isn't this a hit? 😮
It's so weird how AI generated lyrics was just a meme 4 years ago, and now AI is actually putting creative artists out of work.
But this also shows that AI works best as a tool as part of the creative process, not a replacement of it. The AI wrote the lyrics, but a whole team had to work together to make it into an actually listenable song. Having Squidward Tentacles sing 'Don't Fear The Reaper' is just a waste of time that copies instead of creating.
Still its kinda scary, a small content creator called the automatic singer started using Ai to make a couple of songs, and it took me quite a while to understand they were AI generated.
It’s actually fire 🔥
Good electronic song :)
"in this pain of the bird who's flying over roses of sadness" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
modern AI "musicians" wish they were able to produce bangers like this
4 years before Anna Indiana and 100x better. I know its probably because of the heavy human involvement, but I like to imagine their programming skills are also way better.
So this song had heavy curation by humans to make it listenable and that makes it fairly good. Now a couple years later we have ai making the entire song by themselves and it's so much worse than this.
This is so terribly generic, I've heard this song 50 times in 47 different versions probably
whattt app did you use
I miss when A.I. in music wasn't a threat to human musicians, and was just fun experiments like this. Anna Indiana could never…
Literally came here to watch this as a palette cleanser. Definetly miss the nonsensical funny days of Ai. There was something so magical about it.
Anna's song is somehow much worse than this though.
Even modern AI is great for satire if you want to poke fun at a genre or style. But AI art that is merely copying a style and trying to pass it as its own, come off hollow.
i miss when ai content was actually enjoyable like this song
When I learned about this, I was really fascinated. Now in 2023 I'm not impressed anymore, thinking: "Of course AI can write this songs! Why is this one so plain? It can do better!". But then again, that rapid change of in view of AI is kinda fascinating itself.
I am so enjoying these AI generated songs. I found this after Anna Indiana burning down the town. They are so creative and interesting; complete opposite of the terrible modern music that sounds more artificial that the artificial.
If you think modern music made my humans is boring I’m sad to say you haven’t listened to much music at all.
@@lillymoonstar8 the very opposite. I grew up surrounded by music. Today has almost nothing to offer compared to times past except corporate and low talent crap. Also, I have had people give a list of suggested music and it was all forgettable.
@@n.d.m.515 it really still just sounds like you need to broaden your musical horizons. I don’t mean that unkindly so I could be totally wrong, and maybe it is all just an opinion thing (which everyone has their own. I primarily listen to indie bands and folk bands and cabaret music and I can assure you none of those feel artificial. If you take the time to look around you’re bound to find some modern music that’s innovative and interesting. Talkshow boy is a musician I listen to and his stuff is moreso from the early 2000s but it’s not like he’s stopped making music. And Jpegmafia is a rapper I listen to who does interesting stuff as he uses a large variety of samples and has interesting sound. Also it’s kinda wild bc a large portion of AI generated stuff is literally the baby of cooperate business that wants nothing but money (the song in this UA-cam video is not an example of that, and is an exception), just sort of due to how AI produces music in the first place. But if you’ve had ppl suggest stuff it’s probably just a difference of taste lol
@@lillymoonstar8 I can't expand my musical horizons more than the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even16 or 17 hundreds. Maybe it is taste, as in modern music listeners and creators have bad taste. My favorite era is 80s. My favorite style is Rock (of all kinds save the modern scream variety even if those still have great instrumentation). I love when people offended by my views say I am not familiar with music. No I don't have any practical connection to music, but that doesn't mean I don't know music.
@@lillymoonstar8 I listened to the two groups you listed. Rap is my least favorite genre of music, so that is an automatic no. The other group is electronic punk and wasn't that bad, but I actually prefer Violent Femes that have a similar vibe. Still active or not, you did have to dig all the way back to 2000 when some vestiges of good music still existed. Just saying.
